Spasticity and MS

People with MS may experience many different symptoms during the course of the disease and spasticity is one of the most common.  However, it is treatable and can be managed to decrease its adverse effects on overall function.  When treating spasticity, one must focus on managing spasticity not just the elimination of it.

MSers might find success in reducing muscle tightness and soreness by range-of-motion exercises and stretching. Exercise at home or community-based exercise class can be taken.  Ice has been shown to help but watch out with heat source application, i.e. heating pad. We all know what heat can do.
